Solemn opening of the hypermarket “IKEA” will take place in Ufa in a week, August 25 and according to the old Russian tradition the cat will cross the threshold of the new apartments the first. As the director of IKEA in Ufa Anna Solodovnikova says the ancient tradition to let the cat in the new house first is maintained by the company in the course of many years – from the moment of opening the first IKEA shop in Khimki in 2000.
The press-service of the shop reports the holding company “IKEA” produces furniture and interior goods of its own design during more than 60 years. At present time 12 IKEA shops already work in Russia.
The first persons of Republic of Bashkortostan and Ufa and representatives of the Embassy of Sweden in Russia are invited to participation in the solemn ceremony.
