On August 17 Bashkir agrarians had overstepped the one-millionth grain frontier and on this occasion the Vice-Premier of the Government RB, the Minister of agriculture RB Ernst Isaev has held a meeting with the journalists.

“It looks like an ordinary event. Every year we harvest one million tons of grain and more” – he said – “But taking the last year severest drought into account it was important for the agrarians to harvest one million tons now”.

The Minister of agriculture reminded to what extent 2010 turned out to be difficult for the villagers. Because of the drought in the Republic, harvesting three-four million tons every year before, the gross grain harvest made up only 800 thousand tons in 2010.

Ernst Isaev has analyzed the measures of state support for the agrarians, contributing to the successful sowing campaign in 2011 and to the present rich harvest. Such support made up more than five billion rubles. About 400 million rubles was spent for cheapening of the agricultural machinery. As a result the agricultural enterprises managed to acquire 2000 units of machinery, including 250 grain harvesters. Substantial means were allocated for diesel fuel and fertilizers.

“The harvest is at its height now” – the Minister said – “One third of the agricultural lands are harvested. The north-east of Bashkiria and trans-Ural zone just start the harvest-2011. The average crop capacity makes up 21 centners from one hectare”.
