The Lent for Muslims
The Holy Month of Ramadan – the analogue of the Lent in Christianity – begins for all Muslims on Monday, August 1.
This is the most important and honorable month for all Muslim believers and during it the Muslims have to keep the severe fast, which presumes the refusal from water, foods and sex in the daytime.
Strengthening of the belief and spiritual growth, determination of the real spiritual values are the main essence of the abstinence and the fast. The month will finish with the festival of Uraza-Bayram on August 30 and this day is declared the day off in Bashkortostan.
