The acceptance of applications for participation in the international contest of Turk poetry translations “AK TORNA” (White Crane) will be over on August 15. The contest is called to acquaint a wide circle of poetry lovers with the Russian translations of the works, written in one of the languages, belonging to the Turk group. The participants of the contest have a chance to demonstrate their talents and may figure on solid gratuities. In every of three nominations – “Lyrics”, “Public poetry” and “Experimental form” - the prize at the rate of 50 thousand rubles will be presented for the first place, 30 thousand rubles – for the second place and 15 thousand - for the third. The author of the best translation from Bashkir language will be rewarded with the special prize of the jury at the rate of 30 thousand rubles. Seven participants of the contest will be rewarded with souvenirs.
The contest is initiated by the Ministry of culture RB, the Writers Union RB, the TV-channel “Culture”, the consulting company “Image-Consultant” and by the literary-art journals “BELSKIE PROSTORY” and “AGIDEL”.

Solemn flower ceremony for the winners will take place this autumn.
