Bashkir ushers collect donations for restoration of the Church by the Holy Martyr Theodore Stratilat, located in the town of Pereyaslavl-Zalessky, Yaroslavl region. For today the ushers from Bashkortostan have already collected about 30 thousand rubles.

It should be mentioned that the Patriarch of Moscow and Russia Cyril determined Theodore Stratilat as the patron of the Federal Bailiff Service. As the legend says, Theodore Stratilat was born in the town of Evkhait and served in the Emperor’s Army. The glory about his military valor started spreading after he had killed the dragon, living not far from the town. The foundation of the Theodore’s Monastery, on which territory the Theodore Stratilat’s Church is located, dated to 1304. In 1557 Ivan the Terrible has ordered to erect the church of Theodore Stratilat on the territory of the monastery in the honor of his son’s birth.
