“Again we are facing the tragedy in the country and people decease again, now in Tatarstan, on Volga. Let me express my sincere condolences to the relatives of the victims, to all our friends and colleagues in the brotherly republic. It is too hard to look though the lists of the missing because many children are found in these lists and it seems they are all already dead” – the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov wrote in his blog.
It should be reminded that the double-deck motor ship “Bulgaria”, built up in 1995 in Czechoslovakia, has sunk on Sunday in Volga during a thunderstorm, three kilometers from the bank. More than 200 people were found on its board, 79 were saved.
According to the latest information the bodies of 58 victims were taken from the water: 39 women, five kids and 14 men.
“It is extremely difficult to write about people, innocently deceased but we have to do it because sloppiness is still going on. Sloppiness, multiplied on greed and on profit earning at any price gives its horrible results: the lost human lives” – Rustem Khamitov underscored.
The President of Bashkortostan is sure that “the reason of the crashes is mainly the following: exploitation of the depreciated machines and vehicles, unqualified personnel, striving for profits at any price, abuse, indifference and hard-heartedness”.
