Rustem Khamitov: “The volumes of industrial interaction between Bashkortostan and Turkey should be increased several times”

The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has discussed some questions of economic cooperation today, July 5, at the meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey in Russia Aidyn Sezgin. At present time only 88 enterprises with Turkish capital work in the Republic. The volumes of industrial interaction between Bashkortostan and Turkey should be increased.

Rustem Khamitov has underscored that Bashkortostan conducts open policy and ready to provide the investors with certain preferences. The preliminary agreements concerning the visit of the Turkish business delegation to Bashkortostan for discussing possible prospects of cooperation were reached in the course of the meeting.

“We’d like to hold modern big exhibition of our investment opportunities in Turkey” – Rustem Khamitov said.

The Ambassador of Turkey suggested that a presentation of Bashkortostan should be held in his country.

“Our today’s meeting will become a push for further development of our economic relations” – the diplomat said, commenting the results of the negotiations – “We arrange cooperation with many Russian regions but Bashkortostan occupies special place in our heart”.

The Ambassador of Turkey outlined the areas, where realization of joint projects looked the most promising. Turkey can invest in new industrial designs. Moreover, two biggest investment projects in this sphere are successfully developed.

Education is one more direction. The cooperation is established between the Bashkir State University and several Turkish institutes and this cooperation should be developed.

“This is my first visit to Bashkortostan” – Aidyn Sezgin said – “I hope to return to the Republic in the nearest future to continue discussing new investment projects”.
