The Council of the heads of the state theaters is established under the international organization TURKSOY. The decision concerning establishment of such council was reached at the gathering of the directors of the national/state academic dramatic theaters of the countries – the members of TURKSOY, organized by TURKSOY General Secretariat jointly with the General Directorate of the state theaters of Turkish Ministry of culture and tourism in the town of Antalya.
Directors of the theaters from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Chuvashia, Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Kirghizia, Khakassia, Turkish Cyprus and Altay put the most actual everyday problems of the national theaters on the agenda. Every representative was talking about the situation with his theater in his country or republic, making quite definite proposals.
In opinion of the participants of the gathering the Council will be able to form a new look at the national theaters, making a solid base for joint cooperation in development of this sphere of art. It is also important that joint festivals for consolidation of the interrelations through the theatrical art will be established for the Turk theaters. In particular, the festival, devoted to the 200th anniversary of the famous Azerbaijani writer, the founder of Azerbaijani realistic literature, philosopher and public activist Akhundzade Mirza Fatali, will be held in Baku in 2012. In the nearest future the special site for operative information exchange between the members of the Council will be launched and the work over uniting of all Turk theaters will be initiated by the members of the Council of the directors of the state academic dramatic theaters of the countries – TURKSOY members in the nearest possible time.
