On Friday during the meeting of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev with governors the offer on appointment to the post of the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, the governor of St.-Petersburg was made. This idea was put forward by the president of Bashkiria Rustem Khamitov, "Interfax" informs.
«I like this idea», — Dmitry Medvedev replied.
«Valentina Ivanovna is the person with great political experience, absolutely successful governor who worked before in the government of the Russian Federation in executive positions, the person who really supports the business, capable to solve tasks», —the President marked.
The question about appointment to the post of the head of the Federation Council was raised when the President having collected several governors suggested to speak about decentralisation of a part of powers and their transfer from federal centre to regions.
Rustem Khamitov who mentioned a number of his considerations, reminded that regions among other instruments had the Federation Council, and it was necessary to think how to include the upper chamber into work on «lobbying in good sense of a word» regional interests.
