Issues of international relations and the ethnocultural policy in our republic and the country as a whole were discussed on Tuesday at the meeting of the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov and the Director of Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences the academician Valeriy Tishkov.

— We discussed the religious situation in Bashkortostan, the strengthening of the interethnic consent, — Valeriy Tishkov commented on results of the meeting. – also we spoke about possibility of joint projects of Moscow scientists and scientists of Bashkortostan on such issues, as youth subculture and the language policy in the republic.

Valery Tishkov marked that, in his opinion, such problem, as outflow of Russian population is also actual for Bashkortostan. All republics of our country, anyhow, face it.

Certainly, in Bashkortostan this problem is not so acute as in the republics of the North Caucasus, — Valery Tishkov said. – The outflow of Russians into other regions is very low here. But this tendency all the same needs to be overcome, as Russian population plays very important consolidating role all over the country. It does not allow representatives of this or that nationality to be isolated from the external world in the territory of its compact residing.

According to Valery Tishkov all population of Russia, all regions should take part in the general important issue – in the formation of the uniform Russian nation. This task was put, by the way, by the President of the country Dmitry Medvedev in February of the current year at the session of the Presidium of the State Council of Russia in Ufa.
