Eleanor Mitrofanova has highly appreciated activity of Bashkortostan in UNESCO projects
The deputy Prime-Minister of the Government RB, the chairman of the Republican Committee on UNESCO affairs Zugura Rakhmatullina has taken part in the 186th session of UNESCO executive council in the staff of Russian delegation on May 12-15.
As the Committee on UNESCO affairs RB reports, within the frames of the session Zugura Rakhmatullina has held a meeting with the chairman of UNESCO executive council Eleanor Mitrofanova re further development of cooperation between Bashkortostan and UNESCO in the interests of the Bashkortostan-UNESCO Communiqué, signed in 2008, and determination of further joint prior projects and programs.
Eleanor Mitrofanova has highly appreciated the positive experience of Bashkortostan in numerous UNESCO projects in spheres of culture, education and science, participation of Bashkortostan in UNESCO international forums and festivals, international symposiums and congresses and active work with UNESCO associated schools and clubs. She has mentioned that Bashkortostan is the unique region of Russian Federation with rich aboriginal material, cultural and natural heritage. The problems of preservation of the famous cave “Shulgan-Tash”, the Bashkir epos “Ural-Batyr”, the national Turk festival “Sabantuy” and other objects, which are worth to be included into the list of the world mankind heritage, were under discussion at the meeting.
Eleanor Mitrofanova has underscored the necessity of Bashkortostan’s participation in joint projects of UNESCO and TURKSOY.
During the visit to Paris Zugura Rakhmatullina has also met with the representatives of UNESCO profiled committees and commissions and with the leading employees and experts of the Russian Representative Office under this international organization.
