The delegation of Bashkortostan, consisting of the chairman of the council for state-inter-confessional relations under the President RB Vyacheslaw Pyatkov, his deputy Azat Fatakhov and the deputy chairman of the Clerical Muslim Dept RB on education and public relations Ruslan Sayakhov has left for the international center “Al-Vasatyia” (Kuwait) with three-day reconnaissance visit. The representatives of Bashkortostan go to Kuwait by invitation of the deputy Minister on Islamic affairs of Kuwait Adel Al-Fallakh for acquaintance with the center of moderate Islam and consolidation of the relations between Bashkortostan and Kuwait. This is already the third trip of representatives RB to the international center “Al-Vasatyia”. Earlier only Muslim priests have visited the center – in January and in March 2011. The director of the Islamic College by Miriam Sultanova Ildar Malakhov was the first guest from Bashkortostan. He has negotiated that representatives of our Republic will regularly visit this center with its leadership.
For the reference: the international center “Al-Vasatyia” was opened in Kuwait in 2006 and its specialists work up and develop the programs for popularization of moderate Islam all over the world. The word “Vasatyia” means medium, moderate Islam – in contrast to the radical religious views. The representative office of the center was opened in Moscow in January 2010 – the Russian scientific-enlightener center “Al-Vasatyia”. The founder of these centers in Kuwait and Moscow Doctor Adel Abdulla Al-Fallakh was rewarded by the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev with the Friendship Order “for personal contribution to consolidation of Russian-Kuwait relations and for popularization of ideas of religious tolerance” in November 2010.
