Rustem Khamitov is taking part in Volga federal district council for preparation for sowing campaign

The President of Bashkiria Rustem Khamitov is taking part in the Volga federal district Council’s meeting, held in Samara now.

The governors of 14 Russian regions in the staff of Volga federal district are discussing the forthcoming spring field works under direction of the Plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in Volga federal district Gregory Rapota. The first Vice-Premier of the Government RF Viktor Zubkov is also taking part in the meeting.

Opening the meeting Gregory Rapota has underscored the agricultural complex is considered the basic for the district. Here one fourth of the whole agricultural output of Russia is produced. The Plenipotentiary has also mentioned the last severest drought. Because of extremely unfavorable climatic conditions the agricultural production in Volga federal district has dropped by 53% as compared with 2009. Crops have died on 38% of agricultural lands. The spring crops occupy just 83% of the pre-planned areas.

The first Vice-Premier of the Government RF Viktor Zubkov has posed the problem before the governors to conduct all sowing works in time and with good quality. The Government RF renders all necessary assistance to the agrarians from its side. 125 billion rubles is allocated in 2011 for the state program, meant for support of Russian agriculture. The additional means for acquisition of seeds are also allocated. At present time Russian agrarians are supplied with seeds by 99%.
