Children from Bashkiria have become the witnesses of “Uri Gagarin” start
The pilot spaceship “Soyuz TMA-21” was successfully launched from the cosmodrome “Baikonur”. The delegation of students and pupils from Bashkiria has become the eye-witness of this historical event. The start is dated to the 50th anniversary of the first human spaceflight and more than 200 VIPs participated in the jubilee start.
Bashkir delegation is headed by the deputy Prime-Minister of the Government RB Uri Pustovgarov.
The spaceship’s crew consists of the commander Alexander Samokutyaev, board engineer Andre Borisenko and NASA astronaut Ronald Garran. Both Russians leave for space for the first time and the American pilot has flown on “Discovery” in 2008, spending 13 days in cosmos.
“Soyuz TMA-21” – is the first Russian spaceship, named after Uri Gagarin. This is already the 26th flight of the Russian pilot spaceship “Soyuz” to MCS. The crew will join the 27th and the 28th flight of the long-term expeditions. The cosmonauts prepared for this flight during seven years.
