The regional stage of the contest “Students in free business undertakings” is opened in Ufa at the Ufa trade-economic college. It is held within the frames of the wide-scaled international student program SIFE, which gives its participants the opportunity to make their projects in sphere of economics and free business undertakings in their towns, districts and regions a reality.

Five teams from secondary special education institutions and 13 institute teams will take part in the contest in 2011, so the organizers have decided the projects will be defended during two days – on March 30 and 31 correspondingly.

The program’s coordinator in Bashkiria Valentine Suleimanova says new criteria for assessment of the projects are introduced in 2011.

“The students have to master economic knowledge, thus they have to demonstrate their business education, developing their projects, and at the same time their ideas have to help needy people” – she explained – “For instance, the students should develop a new direction in activity of some enterprise or make a business project for it, teach elderly people the computer competence etc”.

The teams introduce three directions: business-projects, social and education projects. The groups of population, work methods, the number of the projects, their duration and scales are determined only by initiatives, inventiveness and abilities of the students.

The main aim, standing before the teams is presentation of both the projects and the results of these projects and the jury has to estimate the student works by the criteria, used on the international level.

According to the results of the regional stage the winners will go to Moscow to take part in the all-Russian contest’s stage, appointed on May 26. In case of victory the students will present Russia on the international level. In 2011 the final stage will be held in the beginning of October in Malaysia.
