International conference, devoted to the 120th anniversary of Karim Khakimov, started working in Ufa
The international scientific-practical conference “Russia and Islamic world: history and prospects of civilized interaction”, devoted to the 120th anniversary of the prominent Soviet diplomat Karim Khakimov, called “Red Pasha” in the Middle East, started working in Ufa. The main goal of the conference is consideration of the historical experience on making the relations between Russia and the Islamic countries. The conference is organized by the Presidential Administration RB, the Government RB, by the Institute of oriental studies under the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Ufa Scientific Center, the Academy of Sciences RB, the Bashkir State University and by the film company “Right”. Scientists, diplomats, activists of culture, representatives of mass-media of Russia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Bulgaria, Belgium, Holland, Saudi Arabia, France, the USA and Japan are taking part in the scientific forum. The conference will last during two days.
The “round tables” “Islam in the East and in the West: the dialogue of civilizations”, “Islam in history and culture of poly-confessional Russia” and “Russian diplomacy in the East” are held today in the Congress-Hall.
The theatrical performance, based on the motives of the play by Najib Asanbaev “Red Pasha” will take place for the participants of the conference tonight at the Bashkir State Academic Dramatic Theater by Majit Gafuri.
The conference’s plenary session will take place on Saturday, March 26.
