Republic of Bashkortostan will closely cooperate with the countries of the Middle East, the head of the Presidential Administration’s foreign and interregional relations dept RB Ruslan Mirsayapov said in “BST” TV-program “Nonrandom People”.
“Bashkortostan hasn’t enough experience on interaction with the Middle East in a whole and with Saudi Arabia in particular” – he said – “Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and Tatarstan are the leaders here but we believe that our politics of openness and active gain of potential partners and investors will help us coming up with the leaders in the nearest future”.
According to Ruslan Mirsayapov the fact that Bashkiria is the most northern region, where the majority of population preach Islam, can be considered the go-between in the dialogue with the countries of the Middle East. Rustam Mirsayapov has also marked the invaluable contribution, made by the Soviet diplomat Karim Khakimov, well-known as “Red Pasha”, in establishment of cordial relations between our country and the Islamic world.
