Brand “Bashkir Honey” should serve for the good of every citizen RB

“The brand “Bashkir honey” isn’t available for the majority of Bashkir bee-keepers” – the Vice-President of “Bashkir Honey Association” Sergey Mulukov supposes.

Only the state enterprise “The Bashkir scientific-research center for bee-keeping and apitherapy” has the right to use this brand in the Republic but along with the center such enterprises as the state bee-keeping agencies “BIRSKOE”, “STERLITAMACSKOE”, “UFIMSKOE”, the reserve “SHULGAN-TASH”, the company “Bashkir Be-Gardens” and many other bee-keeping enterprises work here and all of them have no right to use the brand “Bashkir Honey” and this fact negatively affects the honey sales.

On this occasion many addresses, complaints, letters and proposals come to the Government RB, the Ministry of agriculture RB and other higher echelons.

“As a professional expert in this problem I can state with all responsibility that at present time none of the Bashkir organizations are able to obtain the statement of honey origin legally” – Sergey Mulukov said – “The matter is that when the “Bashkir scientific-research center for bee-keeping and apitherapy” had registered its statement in 2005, its leadership has set the indices of honey properties too high and it was made so for that nobody and never would be able to receive the same document in the future. At present time the center is the monopolist on the right of possession of the brand “Bashkir Honey”, thereby making the unfair competition”.

The Federal Anti-Monopoly Service in RB has already held two hearings on this occasion in 2011 and the director of the Bashkir scientific-research center for bee-keeping and apitherapy Amir Ishemgulov has admitted that the center produces honey according to the state standards but certain deviations from the indices, fixed in the statement of “Bashkir Honey” possession are to the fore and this is a gross violation of the federal law.

The brand “Bashkir Honey” is considered the most recognizable potentially promising brand for Bashkortostan for today. The first international award has been obtained by this honey in Paris still in 1900.

Sergey Mulukov urges the Republican bee-keepers to consolidate themselves and create the high-quality product – the regional brand, able to become the symbol of step-by-step intense development of new Bashkortostan.

Now the Bashkir bee-keepers can’t use the brand “Bashkir Honey”, thus discrediting both themselves and the image of the whole region – it is the same as to live in own house but at the same time not feeling oneself in it as a master.

The international analysts estimate the national brand “Russia” at 663 billion dollars.

“According to my estimations the brand “Bashkir Honey” should cost one billion dollars in case of its proper development” – Sergey Mulukov believes – “And this financial instrument should serve for the good of every citizen in Bashkiria”.
