Trade-Industry Chambers of Bashkiria and Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) signed cooperation agreement
The cooperation agreement between the trade-industry chambers of Bashkiria and the city of Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) has been signed within the frames of the Russian business week in Saudi Arabia at Jeddah economic forum.
The Consul General of Russia in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Sergey Kuznetsov and the members of the Bashkir delegation were present at the ceremony. The agreement is signed by the Vice-President of Jeddah Trade-Industry Chamber Mazen Batergi and by the Vice-President of the Trade-Industry Chamber RB Azat Fazlyev, the press-service of the Trade-Industry Chamber RB reports.
As the news agency “Bashinform already reported, the President of Bashkiria Rustem Khamitov headed the Bashkir delegation at the forum.
The annual Jeddah economic forum is considered the largest event in economic life of the Arab world and it is often called “Middle-Eastern Davos”. The forum is held since 1999 and more than two thousand people from more than 30 world states take part in its work every year. In 2011 the forum is held under the slogan “Transformation in the XXI century”.
This is not the first business visit from Bashkiria to Saudi Arabia but the official delegation RB pays a visit to the forum for the first time.
Bashkortostan is traditionally found in the list of the Russian regions, which Arab investors are interested in most of all. The cooperation in sphere of oil-gas mining and oil-chemical industry, power engineering and trade is of special interest. Besides, the cooperation in sphere of quality control of the goods, delivered for the markets of both countries within the frames of Russian-Saudi commodity exchange with the purpose to ensure sanitary requirements and safety of the consumers, the interaction in agriculture, tourism and other spheres are also important.
Several agreements have been reached between the parties in the course of the forum. The return visit of Saudi Arabia’s delegation to Bashkiria is expected in the nearest future.
