In 2010 Ufa remained in the list of outsiders among ten Russian cities with the population more than one million people (not taking Moscow and Saint-Petersburg into account) by the level of investment activity. This problem was discussed by the Ufa administration today.
“The investments to the fixed capital are one of our weakest points” – the Ufa Mayor Paul Kachkaev said – “Now we stand on the eighth-ninth positions among ten cities in Russia and this is definitely not our level. Moreover the Ufa budget is socially-oriented by 80% and it means development of building and industry in the city is possible only with the help of investors”.
By the way, Kazan – one of the closest neighbors of Ufa – holds the first place in this list and the volume of attracted investments there turned out to be twice higher than in the capital of Bashkiria.
