The peculiarities in development of the agricultural complex, modernization of agriculture in the conditions of climatic changes – these questions have become the key ones at the plenary session of the international scientific-practical conference, held on Wednesday, March 16, at the Bashkir State Agrarian University. The forum is held within the frames of the XXI international specialized exhibition “AGROCOMPLEX-2011”. The importance of the action is quite evident and along with the representatives of Bashkiria the scientists from the Academies of Sciences of Russia and Tatarstan and heads and specialists of the leading agricultural enterprises take part in it.

Welcoming the participants the rector of the Bashkir State Agrarian University Ildar Gabitov has said for the 80-year-old history the University has trained more than 50 thousand specialists.

“Bashkortostan is found in the list of leaders in agrarian production in Russia and in many respects this is the service of our graduates” – the rector said – “Now we have to train the specialists of a new format. The results are impossible without new technologies and actual designs and one can become an outsider if not applying everything what gives real success”.

As the deputy Minister of agriculture RB Rail Afzalov said, 2010 turned out to be very hard year for the agrarians.

“We’ve done all possible to withstand the abnormal heat” – he said — “In several directions we’ve managed to hold our positions and at the same time to make good reserves for the future. The production volumes of agriculture made up 90 billion rubles in 2010 – sure, it is less than in 2009 but the reasons are quite evident. Moreover, some Republican farms managed to receive good harvests. Thanks to them, the federal Government and the Government RB have managed to avoid wide-scaled aftermath of the drought and first of all in sphere of cattle-breeding. And here I can’t but say that today we have to work in close connection with science. In our activity we are guided by knowledge and experience of those pedagogues and professors, working at the University today”.

The doctor of biological sciences, Professor Robert Ilyaziov from Tatarstan called Bashkortostan the unique Republic.

“All natural-climatic conditions of Russia are present in Bashkortostan” – he said- “By the example of the Republic we can work up a model or a program of agro-ecological security for the whole of Russia”. More detailed discussion of such project will take place on March 17 at the Academy of Sciences RB.

The conference will last two days. The participants intend to discuss the most actual problems of veterinary, food technologies, cattle-breeding, agro-engineering etc.
