The deputy Prime-Minister of the Government RB, the Minister of economic development RB Vladimir Balabanov said that to make Bashkiria the region attractive for investors was one of the key aims for the Government. He has taken the floor in the Republican Government today with the summary report about activity of the Government RB in 2010.

The Vice-Premier has reminded the key role in making the investment climate in the Republic favorable belongs to the Corporation for development of Republic of Bashkortostan, established by the Government RB and patronized by the Ministry of economic development RB. The Corporation was founded at the end of 2010 by the decision of the President RB Rustem Khamitov. Besides, the law “Investment activity in Republic of Bashkortostan, realized in the form of capital investments”, where the measures of state support of the investment activity were indicated, was passed also in 2010. The regional authority also prepared the bill about tax preferences for the future investors.

Vladimir Balabanov has established the fact that unfortunately the volumes of investments in Bashkortostan were going down during last two years. In 2009 they’ve dropped by 27% and in 2010 – by 10%. At present time the Republic is found on the 60th positions among Russian regions by the volume of investments to the fixed capital per capita, though in 2008 it held the 34th position. At that the building sector and agriculture have suffered from the lack of finances most of all.

Nonetheless several big investment projects have been launched in Bashkiria in 2010. Thus, the first in Russia enterprise for production of the electrochemical lathes for making the details of any metals and alloys has been opened in Ufa with the assistance of the state corporation “ROSNANOTECH”.

New production of the suspension high-density polyethylene with the annual capacity 120 thousand tons was launched by JSC “GASPROM NEFTEKHIM SALAVAT”. The work of the Bashkir cloth factory – the oldest light industry enterprise in the region – is resumed in Tuimazinsky region RB. The leather factory in the town of Oktyabrsky, which stood idle for a long time, started working again.
