Bashkiria has to overcome the gap in IT sphere

author: Lubov Kolokolova

The meeting re development of IT and introduction of electronic document circulation in public sphere has taken place on March 3 in the Government House RB under the chairmanship of the President RB Rustem Khamitov and two questions stood in the agenda: working up the Concept of the Republican program “Development of information society in Bashkiria till 2016” and inculcation of the electronic document circulation system in the Republican executive power bodies. But before the discussion Rustem Khamitov has expressed his opinion concerning the situation with IT in the Republic:

“We pay much attention to IT development now and the strategy for development of informational society is approved on the federal level. On its base the Russian Government worked up the corresponding state program. This work is running in full swing everywhere but unfortunately the situation in our Republic can’t be called really successful”.

The President RB referred to the data of the last investigation, ordered by the Ministry of communication and mass communications RB. According to this information Bashkiria is found on the 51st place in Russia by IT development and on the 10th of 14 regions in Volga federal district.

“The future of our economics is directly concerned with the development of IT and our present 51st place visually demonstrates our readiness for the future” – the President RB said.

“We have many local solutions but none of them can be called completed, we’ve spent dozens and even hundreds million rubles but the result is zero and the “Social Card RB” is the only thing we can speak about more or less definitely, but it arouses too many questions too. We have to approve the Concept for IT development and the program for realization of this Concept”.

In a whole the President RB has characterized the current situation as rather troubled. “If we fail to work in the informational space, we’ll fail to achieve any success” – he mentioned.
