Bashkir agrarians are taking part in the XXII Congress of Russian farmers in Tambov
The XXII Congress of the Russian Peasant’s Farmings and Agricultural Co-operatives Association is declared open in the town of Tambov and delegation of Bashkir agrarians, headed by the first deputy Minister of agriculture RB Nikolai Kovalenko, takes part in its work. The present situation and problems of the farmer’s structure, the rise of the role of the state and farmer’s organizations in development of small business in the countryside, the work balance of the Association in 2010 and the aims for the future stand in the list of the agenda’s questions.
According to information of the Ministry of agriculture RB small rural business plays important role in development of Republican agriculture. 4122 peasant’s farmings, 292 businessmen, involved in agricultural production, and about 580 thousand private auxiliary farmings work in the Republic at present time. 482,6 thousand hectares of agricultural lands are in the use of the peasant’s farmings and 281 thousand hectares – in the private use of the Republican citizens.
Farmers keep about 877,7 thousand heads of cattle, 276,5 thousand pigs, 789,2 thousand sheep and goats, 91 thousand horses, 259,3 thousand bee-families and 5,4 million poultry. The share of the peasant’s and private auxiliary farmings in the overall agricultural output made up 72,4% in 2010.
The “Republican program for development of private auxiliary farmings in Republic of Bashkortostan in 2010-2012” works in Bashkiria for support and development of private small agrarian business.
The Congress is called to determine the ways of further increase of the small business contribution to food supply of population and to restoration of Russian villages.
