Active work of the Bashkir division of the Russian Cosmonautics Federation was positively estimated at the VI Congress of the Federation, held in Moscow on February 25. 139 delegates, including 54 representatives of the Federation’s regional divisions, took part in its work. The delegation RB was headed by the chairman of the Bashkir regional Federation’s division Ramil Davletbaev.
The twice Hero of the Soviet Union, pilot-cosmonaut, Colonel-General, Professor Vladimir Kovalenok made the summary report. He has mentioned active and successful work of the Bashkir division under the Russian Cosmonautics Federation. The division was established in our Republic less than one year ago. At the same time it has already done much for popularization of cosmonautics and for patriotic education of youth. Vladimir Kovalenok has specially indicated the assistance, rendered by the leadership of Bashkortostan to the division’s development. Thus, the decision of the President RB Rustem Khamitov to head the excursion of the Republican students and pupils to the space center Baikonur in March 2011 is the evident example of this assistance.
The initiative to establish a children’s space-aviation center in Ufa was also marked at the Congress. Within the frames of this initiative the Vice-Premier of the Government RB Uri Pustovgarov has recently visited the Space Training Center by Uri Gagarin and the Memorial Cosmonautics Museum jointly with the leadership of the Russian Cosmonautics Federation.
