On February 16 the delegation RB, headed by the President of Bashkiria Rustem Khamitov, arrived in Krasnoyarsk for participation in the VIII Krasnoyarsk economic forum.

The press-secretary of the President RB Artem Valiev reports Rustem Khamitov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France in Russia Jean de Gliniasti and with the representatives of the French business circles today. The prospects in activity of French companies in Bashkortostan were under discussion there.

At present time several projects with the French investors already run. Thus, the agreement with the French machine-building company “ALSTOM” concerning construction of the plant for production of hydroengineering equipment for small hydroelectric stations jointly with the company “RUSHYDRO” was signed in Ufa on February 11. The project presumes the establishment of a techno-park on the area at 67 hectares. According to the preliminary estimations the project will open more than 10 thousand new workplaces.

The three- and four-star hotel centers “NOVOTEL” and “IBIS” by the French company “ACCOR” are erected in Kirovsky district of Ufa. The representatives of the famous French company “GORIMPEX” displayed serious interest in the tourist business RB. The firm specializes itself in construction of the skiing centers.

“During several last years we watch a real breakthrough in the relations between France and Bashkortostan. The agreement with the company “ALSTOM” is signed this year and we have many other joint projects in our plans” – the Ambassador of France said.

For the reference: The mutual commodity turnover between Bashkortostan and France went up 22 times for the last five years, making up 788 thousand USD in 2010, i.e. 8% of the overall external trade volume of Bashkiria.

Bashkiria delivers oil and oil products for France and France in its turn supplies Bashkiria with machine-building goods, chemicals, metal wares and foods.
