Communists launch the all-national referendum in Bashkiria on February 19
The Communist party started holding the all-national referendum, aimed at study of the public opinion on the key points in development of the country, from February 1.
“Our referendum will be held all over the country from the 1st of February to the 30th of September, 2011” – the State Duma deputy, chairman of the Communist party Central Committee Uri Afonin told to the news agency “Bashinform” – It will start on February 19 and will be held in all towns and regions RB. Any citizen may express his opinion on all issues of the day. We understand that the results of our referendum have no any legal effect but if at least one third of our population takes part in it, we will have serious grounds to offer these questions to discussion by the deputies of the State Duma” – Uri Afonin said.
The communists intend to find out the population’s opinion concerning nationalization of natural resources and key branches of Russian economics, food security of the country, housing and communal service tariffs, potential rise of the pension age, introduction of the progressive taxation scale etc. The question concerning the necessity to allocate at least 10% of the supply for development of Russian agriculture will be raised too.
