The President RB Rustem Khamitov and the Governor of Saratov region Paul Ipatov signed the protocol about realization of the Friendship and Cooperation Agreement between our two regions in 2011 and 2012. The Agreement functions since 2003. It is prolonged every five years and every two years its content is subject to revision.
As Rustem Khamitov said, the agreement is not just a sheer formality. Bashkortostan and Saratov region closely cooperate in economic, social and cultural spheres today. The fact that rather large Bashkir diaspora lives on the territory of Saratov region in many respects contributes to these mutually beneficial relations.
“Both business and friendly relations connect us with Saratov region” – Rustem Khamitov said – “We understand that we have to intensify the commodity circulation as well as cultural relations today. In a whole the horizontal relations between regions are of great importance now because they create the cloth of the country, making it strong and inviolable”.
In opinion of Paul Ipatov the economics of two regions have much in common. Agriculture, machine building and metallurgy are well-developed both in Saratov region and Bashkortostan.
“At the same time the God didn’t provide us with oil and gas” – Paul Ipatov said – “And in this respect Bashkortostan, rich with these resources, is interesting for us. I am sure our cooperation will be efficient not only in the sphere of economics but in innovational and humanitarian spheres too”.
