President of Russia visited the First Cathedral Mosque of Ufa

The President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev visited the First Cathedral Mosque of Ufa and the residence of the Central Clerical Muslim Dept of Russia. The President RF became acquainted with the repair works in the mosque and had a talk with the President f Bashkiria Rustem Khamitov and the Supreme Mufti of Russia Talgat Tadjuddin concerning consolidation of international and interreligious agreement both in the Republic and the country.

“Bashkortostan is the region, where people of different nationalities and religions lived side by side for many centuries, supporting their cultural traditions” – Dmitry Medvedev said – The backing of international unity and peace was always the care of the state. We will contribute to consolidation of this unity, developing the inter-cultural dialogue on the all-Russian scale. Today we have good achievements but at the same time serious problems in this sphere”.
