The chairman of Chuvash Congress executive committee RB Valerie Sidorov compared the international relations in our Republic with a thin string.
“We grasped the decision of the President RB to attract public attention to such actual theme with great enthusiasm” – he commented upon the news that 2011 was announced the Year of international agreement in Bashkiria – “This step instills confidence in us that the problems of all nations, inhabiting Bashkiria, including Chuvash nation, will be found under close attention. International relations are a thin string and amateurs mustn’t play it. Our history knows such cases quite well and we all know what it might lead to, so we’d like the questions, arising between different ethnoses, would be solved by the specialists in this sphere first of all, i.e. by the professionals, able to conduct adequate sociological surveys, according to which one can estimate the system of international relations in the Republic.
As for our nation, I can say as a representative of Bashkir Chuvashs that we live on this land together with other ethnoses during more than three centuries and for this period of time no discords between us arose ever”.
