On December 28 the Moscow city court has sentenced the former senator from Bashkiria Igor Izmestiev to life imprisonment. He is brought in a verdict of guilty in terrorism and organization of contract murders.
As the investigation determined, M-r Izmestiev and other 12 people had organized a criminal gang still in 1992. It is considered they’ve committed more than 20 grave crimes and felonies, including 12 killings. The ex-senator was also suspected in bribery and respect to murderous assault of Ural Rakhimov – the son of the first President of Bashkiria Murtaza Rakhimov, www.kommersant.ru reported.
One of the gang’s leaders Sergey Finagin, who testified against the ex-senator, is sentenced to 23 years of imprisonment and another gangster Imran Ilyasov – to 20 years, www.gazeta.ru reports.
