The President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev urged all political forces of the country and the public community to civilized dialogue in his pre-New Year interview.

“Politics mustn’t be “street” as we can unfortunately watch here now” – he said – “It doesn’t mean it can’t walk in the streets since nobody is going to abolish meetings, demonstrations and pickets but we have to move towards direct democracy”.

The President of Russia also said the “United Russia” should be modernized inside.

“As for the other parties, they must take part in discussion of all questions, disturbing the society and if they are in opposition, it doesn’t mean they are cut off from the public life. We’ve already undertaken the necessary steps in order these parties would appear on TV screens with their pre-election programs more often”.
