Serial production of implants for the instruments in microsurgery can be launched in Ufa. This opportunity appeared thanks to putting the unique nano-production by the company “ECM” into exploitation. The company will serially produce the electrochemical lathes of a new generation for manufacturing of the details from any metals and alloys. This is the result of the 20-year-long work of the group of scientists from the Ufa State Aviation Technical University.
Solemn opening of the company has taken place earlier, on December 16, in Ufa. The General Director of “ECM”, doctor of technical sciences Alexander Zaitsev demonstrated the work of one of the electrochemical lathes to the participants of the ceremony. The lathe is able to work with practically all resistance metals and alloys, including the hardest ones. At that the finish is very high – 20 nanometers.
“Our team works in the sphere of electrochemistry during more than 30 years and we are happy our designs find a practical use. For example, several thousand people in Bashkiria were operated with the microsurgical scalpels, manufactured by the company “OPTIMED” with the help of our equipment. Along with the high-tech medicine we successfully work in propulsion engineering and instrument-making industry and this is just a small share of possible spheres of application for our lathes” – Alexander Zaitsev said.
Specialists say the cutting instruments with the ”ECM” label are much cheaper than their foreign analogues. Besides, such instruments are less traumatic and that contributes to the faster tissue healing without scarring. It is especially important in ophthalmology and in other spheres of microsurgery and the use of nanomaterials can become a new word in Russian implantology. .
