A presidential lyceum can be established in Ufa, the deputy Minister of education RB Vladimir Aristarkhov reported on Friday during the meeting of the chairman of the state Council RB Constantine Tolkatchev with the teachers – the deputies of the municipal representative bodies.
“By the number of gifted children our region holds one of the leading positions in Volga federal district” – he said – “So we came out with the initiative to open a presidential lyceum in Ufa to the Plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in Volga federal district. We’ve already met his support in this beginning and hope our initiative will become a reality in the nearest future”.
For the first time the idea to establish presidential lyceums in every federal district of the country was raised by the Governor of Kirov region Nikita Belykh in April 2010 in Moscow at the joint meeting of the Presidium of the State Council, the Council on culture and the Council on science. It is expected that such lyceums should become the educational institutions of a new level, meeting the newest requirements on architecture, equipping of the classrooms, catering, medical services and teaching methods, opening wide opportunities of physical and intellectual development before the pupils. The idea to open presidential lyceums was approved by the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.
