The conference “Prevention of terrorism in youth surroundings through acquaintance with the traditional spiritual values”, organized by the Russian Islamic University under the Central Clerical Muslim Dept RF, the national anti-terror committee RF and the council on public-inter-religious relations under the President RB, has taken place in Ufa in the mosque “LALA-TULPAN”.
The speech of the Chairman of the Central Clerical Muslim Dept RF, the Supreme Mufti of Russia Talgat Tadjuddin was devoted to the role of traditions and Islamic spiritual values in prevention of terrorism among young people. He urged all comers to joint opposition to terrorism and underscored the actuality of terrorism prevention especially in youth masses.
“The analysis of the present situation shows we are facing certain problems and young people often appeared to be entrapped by various pseudo-religious movements” – the chairman of the council on public and inter-religious relations under the President of Bashkiria Vyacheslaw Pyatkov stated – “We intend to close all illegal mosques and not a single square meter of land will be allocated to new mosques until the corresponding resolution is signed either by the Supreme Mufti or by the Central Clerical Dept”.
The Director of the Institute of ethnological investigations under the Ufa Scientific Center Aislu Unusova characterized the stage of penetration of extremism into our country. She laid special focus on the activity of the Islamic organization “Hizb ut-Takhrir al-Islami’, prohibited in many countries.
“The state is able to protect itself but young people can’t” – she stated – “You are the spiritual leaders and you have to protect them. I would even pose the question concerning inertness and inactivity of the local spiritual depts.”.
The archpriest of the Ufa eparchy George Chibirev, the rector of the Russian State Islamic University Rinat Raev, the director of the Scientific-Research Center “Development of Muslim Education” under the Bashkir State Pedagogical University Valerie Khaziev, the archpriest Viktor Ivanov and others have also taken the floor at the conference. The results of the discussion are summed up in the final resolution.
