Bashkir musicians have taken part in the VII all-Russian jazz festival

The VII all-Russian contest of jazz-players “Jazz-XXI century – New Generation” has taken place at the Russian Music Academy by Gnesiny, Moscow.

The students from the Ufa State Academy of Arts George Rakhmatullin (bass-guitar), Ruslan Vorotnikov (piano) and Azat Gaifullin (saxophone) presented Republic of Bashkortostan there. The jazzmen from Ufa presented the program, consisting of their own compositions and works in various styles: avant-garde jazz, fusion, jazz-rock and Latin jazz. Besides, the first solo show of the band “Happy People”, led by the famous jazzman, the advisor of the President RB for culture Oleg Kireev, has taken place in the Moscow jazz club “The Union of Composers” within the frames of the project “Jazz Laboratory”.

The band “Happy People” has become the winner of the jazz festival “Ufa Lights”, successfully held in September 2010 in the capital of Bashkiria.
