13,8 thousand tons of potato have been sold out at the completed autumn fairs in Ufa. In spite of the substantial price rise the “second bread” faces high demand in Ufa. For example, 14,6 thousand tons of potato had been sold out at the autumn fairs-2009, the head of Ufa administration Paul Kachkaev reported today.
“The imported potato dominated at the fairs” – he said – “The Republican potato producers were in the minority this time because of the summer drought”.
Potato was imported to Bashkiria from Barnaul, Tyumen, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Magnitogorsk, Omsk, Altai and Kemerovo regions and even from Byelorussia.
