The President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev is ready to support the wide-scaled investment project for support of the transport infrastructure in Ufa, the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov said today during the talk over the Ufa’s development general layout.
“The overall amount of the investments for this project is estimated at 186 billion rubles” – he said – “I’ve discussed this question with the President of Russia and he promised me certain backing, including federal funding. The corresponding instructions were addressed to the Government of Russian Federation”.
In opinion of Rustem Khamitov the development of Ufa in a whole in many respects depends upon the transport infrastructure.
“Every year the traffic in the city becomes more intense” – he said – “Construction of Salavat Ulaev Avenue has in many respects contributed to unloading of the Ufa’s streets but this stage is already behind and we have to move further. The city needs new interchanges, high-speed highways and pedestrian subways”.
As Rustem Khamitov thinks, when working up the Ufa’s general layout, the specialists have to avoid the mistakes, able to make the city uncomfortable.
“Such mistakes have been made in Moscow” – he mentioned – “As a result the capital of Russia has become of little use for everyday life and we mustn’t follow this example. Our citizens want well-developed social infrastructure, comfortable housing, places for active rest and the absence of traffic jams on our roads and their opinion has to be taken into account when making up the general layout”.
