Azat Ziganshin: Bashkiria strongly lags behind by cattle productivity
For nine months 2010 the farmings of all categories in Bashkiria have produced 1835000 tons of milk. 248500 tons of cattle and poultry have been sold out for slaughter in live weight, making up correspondingly 95,2 and 98,9% to the corresponding period of time in 2009, the Minister of agriculture RB Azat Ziganshin stated at the last Republican meeting, held in Baltachevsky region of Bashkiria.
The Minister said the Republic was in the lead among other Russian regions by the number of cattle and horse and by the agricultural output. Bashkiria fully supplies its population with the main foods.
“At the same time we lag strongly behind by the cattle productivity” – the Minister said – “We hold only the 34th place in the country by the milk yields, the 16th by the daily weight increment of cattle, the 18th place by the daily weight increment of pigs and the 26th place in the country by the egg-laying qualities”.
In 2009 the milk yield from one cow made up 3852 kilograms on average, the cattle daily weight increment – 498g per day and the egg-laying qualities – 310 pieces.
Azat Ziganshin has mentioned that in order to increase the cattle productivity the cattle has to be supplied with high-quality fodders and the work with pedigree cattle should be substantially improved.
“We must search for the ways for solution of our problems and not for the reasons of inertness” – the Minister has underscored.
