The 42nd gathering of the heads of the security services in Volga federal district is held in the Congress-hall, Ufa.

Opening the gathering the Plenipotentiary of the President of Russian Federation in Volga federal district Gregory Rapota said the questions, discussed in Ufa, are of high importance not just for the district but for the country in a whole and said thanks to the participants of the gathering for that informational assistance they rendered to the Plenipotentiary in his activity.

“Everything you are doing is demanded by the country, by the political leadership and by the Government of Russian Federation” – he said – “Your information is of paramount importance and often spurs us to the most active operations”.

Gregory Rapota called the data, contributing to prevention of the man-caused catastrophes, very important since many dangerous productions were concentrated in Volga federal district. In particular, five of seven objects for liquidation of chemical weapons are found here as well as many chemical productions and ammunition depots.

“Unfortunately the unpleasant cases periodically occur there” – the Plenipotentiary mentioned – “So we try to respond the incoming information as quickly as possible and if the given alarm appears well-grounded, we immediately send the specialists to this or that region”.

Gregory Rapota paid much attention to the information about activity of the groups, suspected of the terrorist activity.

“Finally the stability in our society is our main aim” – he underscored – “So we have to pay attention to everything, threatening this stability and quick reaction of those security services, which are responsible for that, is of greatest importance. The stability in inter-ethnic and inter-religious relations is also of high importance for us and this stability is maintained in Volga federal district because we always pay serious attention to this problem, so your promptings and analytical and forecast materials are also extremely important for us”.

The Plenipotentiary of the President of Russia called the struggle with corruption in all its manifestations one of the key problems.

The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov welcomed the participants and reported that the change of power, having occurred in July, was grasped normally by the overwhelming majority of the population. The head of the Republic outlined the top priority problems the new leadership was working over: overcoming of poverty, rise of wages and solution of housing problems. Nonetheless the public surveys say the situation in the Republic can be called stable and the level of confidence in the federal authority is high enough.
