The International Day of Peace is marked in the majority of the countries today. This holiday was announced by the United Nations Organization General Assembly in 1982 as the day of universal cease-fire and refusal fr om violence. Since then it is acknowledged by great number of the world countries, attracting attention of millions of people.
Today the United Nations Organization uses this holiday for maintaining the stable situation in those spots on the globe, wh ere the chances of armed conflicts’ rise are too high. This holiday is marked in many cities of Russia for consolidation of international and inter-religious agreement and young people take active part in the festive arrangements, dated to the International Day of Peace.
