Rustem Khamitov: “We can’t live with the economics, turned upside down”

author: Eugene Rakhimkulov

The “turned upside down economics”, with which our Republic as well as the whole country live for rather a long time, is insolvent and isn’t able to provide stable economic progress. This is the opinion of the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov, ventilated by him at the yesterday’s meeting with the heads of municipal districts of trans-Ural zone, held in the town of Sibay.

“We used to ask everything from the center” – he said – “the regions ask everything from Ufa, Ufa in its turn asks from Moscow and Moscow is closely concerned with the world economics and directly depends on its prosperity. As a result, we suffer from any economical upheavals abroad. This “turned upside down” economical model is absolutely wrong. It is evidently that the regions have to provide themselves with everything necessary from inside. They have to survive in the market economy, avoiding any appeals for help to the capital. In this case the Republic will prosper and the country in a whole will be economically more independent. It is evident the renovation of the economic model can’t be done in one day and several decades are necessary for that but we have to start solving this problem already today”.
