The head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov demonstrated the willingness to the dialogue with the various political parties, working on the territory RB, at the meeting wit the leaders of four parties on August 25, with participation of “United Russia” regional division secretary, the chairman of the State Council-Kurultay-RB Constantine Tolkatchev, the first secretary of the Russian Communist party’s Bashkir division Rifgat Gardanov, the coordinator of LDPR regional division in Bashkiria Eugene Bylin and the head of “Fair Russia” regional division Constantine Shagimuratov.
In the course of the meeting the interrelations between the authority and the parties, the change of the political climate in the Republic, struggle with corruption, the exceeding of the officials’ authority and other questions some parties worried about were discussed. One of such question was the coverage of the political activity of the parties by the mass-media.
“Unfortunately, hitherto we observed certain selectivity in coverage of our activity by the mass-media” – Eugene Bylin said – “It was either totally ignored or covered just partially and our main activity – meetings and pickets – remained off-camera. We do hope this situation will be changed”.
The question concerning the presence of the regional component in the curriculums of the Republican schools was raised by Rifgat Gardanov. In his opinion the level of this component should correspond to the all-Russian norms, making up just 5% and not 30% as now.
“Otherwise our pupils will receive less knowledge on the main disciplines, such as chemistry, physics, mathematics and other subjects. As a result, when entering the institutes they appear in a worse position as compared with the school-leavers from other regions” — he said – “The knowledge of a native language and a native culture is necessary but it doesn’t mean the children should obtain such knowledge to the prejudice to the main program”.
Rustem Khamitov expressed assurance that the acceptable solutions would be found on all arising problems. The President RB intends to hold such meetings with the representatives of the political parties once in a quarter and more often in case of necessity.
