Rustem Khamitov: “The majority of the problems of the Republic come from low budget supply”

author: Eugene Rakhimkulov

The majority of the problems, accumulated in the social sphere of Bashkortostan, are concerned with not enough high budget supply in the Republic. The President RB Rustem Khamitov expressed this opinion, communicating with the journalists and TV-watchers in the “BST” live TV-program “Presidential Hour” overnight.

“At present time the Republican budget makes up approximately 100 billion rubles” – he said – “Though at first glance this sum looks rather substantial, in reality it is not as high as it seems to be. If we divide this sum by the whole 4-million population RB, it means that just about 25 thousand rubles fall on every citizen. How many problems can be solved with this sum?

About one third of the budget RB is spent for the education sphere and here the maintenance of our schools, wages to the teachers and many other things are included. The problems of health protection, house building, road economy, youth politics and all other problems are solved at the expense of the rest of this sum and it is no surprise that it is impossible to solve all of them with the help of these money. Just for comparison: the level of budget supply in Moscow is as minimum as five times higher as in Bashkortostan and in the northern oil-mining regions it is 10-12 times higher, so we have to strive for these figures. It is clear the taxes are the main source of the budget incomes but again everything depends on the number of efficiently working enterprises. This is the vicious circle: if we raise the industry, we solve the majority of social problems”.
