The Athlete’s Day is celebrated in the country every second Saturday in August and on this occasion the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov sent his congratulations to the veterans of sports, coaches and sportsmen, to all lovers of physical culture, sport and healthy way of life:
“The exercises and doing different sports are becoming an important part of social policy, national culture and mental perfection of people nowadays. These exercises give the impulse to development of the whole sports industry, playing more and more noticeable role in modern society. Construction of big sports centers, the newest technologies in training of the high-class sportsmen, supplying of them with modern equipment, development of the sports medicine, adaptive physical culture and sport for the people with restricted physical abilities – these are the most important directions the sports world is rapidly developing along.
Bashkortostan today is one of the leading sports regions of Russia. For the last years our Republic has several times become the sports ground for the prestigious competitions of all-Russian and international levels. The international chess male and female tournaments, the world biathlon championship, the ice speedway world and European championships and many other large sports forums have taken place here at the highest level.
The Republic undertakes systematic measures for making the conditions for improvement of people’s health and for popularization of healthy way of life. The activity on strengthening of the material and technical base of the physical culture and sports institutions will be continued further and it is very important to consolidate the efforts of our authority, professional collectives and public communities on recovery of our society.
I wish the whole physical culture and sports community of Bashkortostan well-being, sports success and new achievements!
