The destiny of the construction branch has become one of the key themes, discussed in the course of the meeting of the President RB Rustem Khamitov with the Trade-Union Federation RB.
The economic crisis has become especially painful for this branch, facing serious slump now.
“During the crisis we’ve lost about three thousand workers and about one thousand people work in the half-day mode” – the chairman of the Republican trade-union of construction workers Paul Alexandrov reported.
The wages in the construction sphere dropped too. Now they averagely make up 7-9 thousand rubles and the arrears of wages became an ordinary thing.
One more problem the builders face now is the attraction of foreign workers.
“The hired workers from other countries de facto take the vacancies local people might work on away and it aggravates far from the best situation with employment in the branch” – Paul Alexandrov said.
“We will pay special attention to solution of the problems in the construction sphere” – Rustem Khamitov said – “The main aim the branch faces today is to raise the rates of housing construction up to 4-5 million square meters annually”.
