The act of terror in Kabardino-Balkaria failed to affect the work of “Young Guardians” from Bashkortostan in the camp “Caucasus-2020”
As it has already been reported the unknown people penetrated to the territory of Baksanskaya hydroelectric station on July 21, 2010, at 04:20 (Moscow time). They killed two officers of the extradepartmental guards, laid the explosive assemblies in the station’s machine hall and put them in action. Three explosions with the 3-6 minute time interval have occurred at the hydroelectric station in a whole. Later the sappers discovered and neutralized one more explosive assembly, thus averting the fourth explosion.
The all-Russian youth forum “Caucasus-2020” is held in the town of Nalchik these days – several kilometers away from the hydroelectric station and more than one thousand guests from all Russian regions are partaking in it, including 12 young people from Republic of Bashkortostan.
The head of the regional staff Constantine Kanunnikov reports the explosions failed to affect the everyday work of the camp.
“Such acts of terror will never reach their goals while young people of different nationalities represent one team, which activity is aimed at development of Russian regions as well as of the country in a whole” – Constantine Kanunnikov said – “Caucasus-2020 is the site for multinational youth dialogue. Young politicians have to learn to find common grounds with the representatives of different nationalities in the country and this knowledge is the resource we have to protect and replenish”.
