New Russian aviation machinery is demonstrated in Farnborough
The multi-purpose super-mobile fighter SU-35, designed with the usage of the fifth generation’s technologies, is demonstrated these days at the international aviation show in Farnborough, located near London. The fighter is introduced by “ROSOBORONEXPORT”. About 60 Russian organizations are taking part in the show, including JSC “OBORONPROM”.
The aviation show in Farnborough is held once in two years. For the first time it was organized in 1948. In 2010 it is held for the 47th time and will last till July 25.
It should be noted the engines for SU-35 are designed jointly by the Ufa engine plant (UMPO) and by the scientific-production association “Saturn”. JSC “UMPO” produces these engines serially. SU-35 is equipped with two turbo-jet engines 117C with the vectorable nozzle. Specialist say that the use of the thrust vector, combined with the aircraft’s control system, ensures lowering of the flight’s maximal speed and pilotage at low speeds. The first flight of SU-35 has occurred on February 19, 2008, in Zukovsky near Moscow.
Along with the newest SU-35 visitors can see the training aircraft Yak-130, the multifunctional front line fighter Mig-35 and its two-seat modification Mig-35D, fighting helicopters KA-52 and MI-35M, the multi-purpose helicopter K-60, the troop-carrier Mi-171S and the helicopter troop carrier Mi-26.
The Russian airliner Sukhoi Superjet-100 is also taking part in the show along with the new Ukrainian airliner AN-158, considered the direct competitor of “Sukhoy Superjet”.
