The All-Russian SMIrotvorets (Mass media piece maker) Journalistic Contest has been announced. It is organized by the Guild of Interethnic Journalism in accordance with the decision of the RF Ministry of Regional Development.
The contest is aimed at stimulation of professional activity of journalists covering life, culture and traditions of people living in multinational Russia, problems of enthocultural development and cooperation, the activity aimed at enhancing the unity of the Russian nation.
Journalists reporting for federal, regional and ethnic mass media and having their materials published or gone on the air during the period from August 1, 2009 to August 1, 2010 can participate in the contest.
The contest is held separately for mass and ethnic publications in five categories: Television, Radio, Press, The Internet, The Winning Nation: Peoples of Russia in the Great Patriotic War. The special prize for materials in children's and youth mass media is announced.
The working language of the contest is Russian. Materials written in languages of peoples of Russian are accompanied with translation.
Winners and laureates of the 2010 SMIrotvotets Contest will be awarded capital prizes, diplomas for the second and the third place and diplomas of laureates in each category.
