On June 28 in the House of Republic Murtaza Rakhimov, the President of Bashkortostan Republic held a working meeting with Vladimir Kovalyonok, the president of Federation of Cosmonautics of Russia, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, the space pilot of the USSR.
Future activity of the Bashkortostan regional branch of Cosmonautics Federation of Russia created in the republic was considered at the meeting. Murtaza Rakhimov positively estimated the initiative of the Federation and underlined necessity of the further development of domestic space-rocket branch.
Also Murtaza Rakhimov said about work of industrial enterprises of Bashkortostan, which issue production for space branch. Possibilities of wider use in cosmonautics of scientific and technical workings out of universities and enterprises of Bashkortostan were considered. Also at the meeting the matter of further organisation at health resorts of Bashkortostan after-flight rehabilitation of cosmonauts was discussed.
Vladimir Kovalyonok expressed confidence that the Bashkortostan regional branch of Cosmonautics Federation of Russia will assist in popularization of projects connected with cosmonautics. Also he said about the plans of the Federation concerning celebrating of the 50 anniversary of Jury Gagarin’s cosmic flight. According to Vladimir Kovalyonk, excursion trips for schoolchildren and students from Bashkortostan to the spaceport Baikonur will be organized. Next spring an exhibition devoted to the first cosmic flight will take place in Ufa.
At the meeting Vladimir Kovalyonok handed over to Murtaza Rakhimov the higher award of Cosmonautics Federation of Russia — the order by the name of K.E. Tsiolkovsky for merits in the field of aircrafts and cosmonautics.
Sergey Lavrentev, the State Councellor at the President of Bashkortostan Republic, Vasily Kuznetsov, the first vice-president of Cosmonautics Federation of Russia, Ramil Davletbaev, the Chairman of Bashkortostan regional branch of Cosmonautics Federation of Russia took part in the meeting.
